SMT Sports Day
Ethan’s school holds a fantastic field / sports day in which the entire school participates and competes on one of three teams. Since there are so few boys in Ethan’s class, he was the only kinder boy on his team! Eric and I were lucky enough to take the day off work to volunteer at the event. It was great to see the fantastic group of kiddos Ethan is fortunate to call his classmates and friends.

Danker San Diego Vacation
The Danker clan vacationed West Coast style this May and we met Dave, Rosi, Granny, Tim, JJ, Emmie and Sophie in Carlsbad. Beautiful location and lots of fun memories with the cousins! We also made a visit to the USS Midway.

Our Move to Mar Vista
Toodles, townhouse!  The most intense and exciting thing this late spring was our move to a single-family home in Mar Vista…about 10 minutes south of our old residence, but what a difference! We are immensely enjoying the house, yard and neighborhood — which happens to be the same neighborhood as 3 of Ethan’s classmates. We’re blocks from the small Santa Monica airport, 2 miles from the beach and surrounded by some great families with young boys that have become fast friends with Ethan and Max. Needless to say, the boys are on cloud 9 and I’m sure will be conducting a video tour for the blog sometime soon.

Adios, Kindergarten!
Ethan graduated Kindergarten June 20th and is now a big-time first grader. We had a fantastic year at SMT and cannot believe how fast it flew by. Ethan’s enjoying a 6-week summer camp until August and will start school again after Labor Day. Look at how much he has grown in only a year!!

Max’s big boy bed
The boys are sharing a bedroom at the new house because they like sleeping in the same room and it also allows us to have a separate playroom! We knew a bunk bed was in our immediate future. Max is loving his new big boy bed, and Ethan loves the view from the top bunk!

What a great collection of photos. I love all of them. Ethan has changed a lot since the beginning of kindergarten last year. He is very quickly growing up as is Max. Love the look of your house. How nice to be back in a home w/yard and somewhere for the boys to get out and “romp around”.
Tim and Eric had bunk beds when they were growing up. As they got older, we separated them into twin beds as it was hard for mom to get up to the top bunk to make the bed 🙂 They eventually wanted their own room, but it was good while it lasted.
Thanks for all the updated photos. See ya soon. Love to all, Mom aka: Maw-maw

  • What a fun time it has been for all of your throughout the Spring. I so enjoy these blogs………….I look at them over and over and each time, I see something a little different. Seems the yard is being enjoyed by all…………big and little.

So looking forward to your visit and giggling, tickling and kissing the boys and their mom and dad. The boys have grown quite a bit in six months………..and Ethan will be heading for “big school” soon after your return trip from St. Louis. Hugs, kisses from your luving Nana
