Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They’ll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!
Max’s original birthday wish was to celebrate his 4th birthday this September at Vasquez rocks. It’s a beautiful place with mysteriously askew and very large rocks, but not exactly 4-year-old birthday party material. We eventually settled on a Chuck E. Cheese party IF and ONLY IF he didn’t have to give Chuck E a hug. Fair enough, kiddo. I find the overgrown mouse a bit much myself.
We kept our motley pint-sized crew small and manageable and Max had a fantastic time until all eyes were on him while singing happy birthday. A near meltdown moment averted with a few cuddles and teamwork for blowing out the candles.
Games, Guardians of the Galaxy figures, NERF guns and LEGO sets were on Max’s birthday wish list this year. He also received some cute outfits, a chef apron and a scooter (like his big brother). Max likes to ride in rainboots and even Pajama pants. Sadly, Max has outgrown calling Ethan “Yah-yah,” but he continues to pull pranks, wrestle, make his big brother laugh and give lots of cuddles, hugs and kisses.
We love you, Maxwell Thomas!
