A fall family trip to Chicago…an easy excuse to get away for a long weekend. This time we centered it around the Imagine Dragons concert, but we had fun seeing the sites with the boys…

And just spending time together…

We all enjoyed the yummy breakfast treats at the Nutella Cafe on Michigan Avenue Thursday morning.

Then we made a visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo to do some walking and see some animals…

The boys loved the primate house and the penguins.

After the zoo we stopped at Portillos for Chicago dogs…and met “Momma T” who was very passionate about customer service. She even sent us home with complimentary pieces of chocolate cake!

We made a stop at Dylan’s Candy Shop and paid way too much for some sugary treats

We made a visit to Navy Pier and attempted to ride the Ferris Wheel, but we were too late! (The boys were secretly happy, but mommy was sad!)

Friday morning we enjoyed a Chicago River Cruise to learn about the architecture of the city along the river.

The weather was perfect…so we then had lunch along the Riverwalk at an outdoor café.
The boys will tell you the highlight of the day was having the birds eat out of their hands.
