One of this year’s goals is to get out of LA more often and see more of California. And since one of my favorite clients was running the Dana Point Festival of Whales, we felt that was the perfect opportunity to explore Dana Point in Orange County. Together with the Loy family, we spent a low-key weekend in Dana Point to celebrate the annual migration of the California Gray Whale as they continue on their 10,000 – 14,000 mile round trip journey to Mexico and back to Canada. It is believed to be the longest annual migration of any mammal. Dana Point is a quiet, picturesque town and the boys loved Baby Beach, the movie in the park and the 2500-slip yacht harbor, which is nestled in a natural cove below towering white cliffs.
