Just a quick funny…Ethan, Max and I walked to Douglas Park the other day. It was the second time we’d made the trek (about a 30 minute walk from home), but the first time was a very short visit since we had brought Bailey dog with us, and promptly had to turn around after seeing the NO DOGS ALLOWED sign.

Naturally, this time we left Bailey at home so we could spend some quality time at the playground. (Side note…this park is a complete nanny hangout. I’d say at least 80+% of the guardians were nannies.) Good time had by all – Ethan braved some new heights and the monkey bars (our latest craze and challenge) and Max tried to eat sand. We even found that an ice cream /  snow cone truck parks by the park exit every afternoon (smart guy!) and Ethan tried his very first snow cone. As you’d guess…it was a hit.

Later that night, Eric asked what we did after school and Ethan says, “Dad, we went to DOGLESS Park.” Eric and I both laughed since his pronunciation was a little off, but when Eric corrected him, Ethan sternly said, “No, Dad — not DOUGLAS Park…DOGLESS PARK. You can’t bring your dog to this park!”

Eric and I had to laugh since he was actually right! Maybe that will be our new name for the park!

  • I remember when I had my first snow cone………..I thought it was incredible……I have chewed on ice ever since that day many, many years ago. You might want to take a snack for Max on your next Dogless Park adventure…….it would taste better than sand. Luv ya’ll.
