I cannot believe my littlest one is approaching a year. Happy 10 months, Max!

With this milestone seems to come additional mischief and feats. My clean little eater is no more. Max’s hands now want to be a part of every feeding — and the hands like to grab, smoosh, squish and rub food every chance they can get. The hands then go into his hair. Every. Single. Time. So, essentially the child needs a bath after every meal. (But you know THAT doesn’t happen!) Notice in one of photos below, he has commandeered not one spoon, not two spoons, but THREE SPOONS from me during a feeding.

That said, he still eats quite well (the proof is in his thighs!) and we’re getting back some semblance of his usual 12 hour night sleeping schedule after a month of rough sleepless nights.

Favorite things: Puffs, Mandarin oranges, walking/jogging in the stroller, blocks, big brother Ethan or anything with which Ethan is playing.

Least favorite things: Having Ethan take toys away from him…Max will wave his arms and yell at his brother!

Favorite past-time: Chasing Bailey and pulling out fist-fulls of fur…only Bailey doesn’t really move, so there’s not much of a chase. Feeding himself and putting EVERYTHING in his mouth.

Current baby tricks: Standing by himself, crawling at warp speeds, babbling nonstop and making fun hand motions. Sometimes he appears to be waving, but my favorite is the open and closing of his fist while the backside of his hand is in his mouth. Makes me laugh every time.

Teeth: 4 upper / 4 lower

Words: Dada, Momma, Nana and other incoherent sounds he seems to repeat.

Working toward: Escaping ingenious Max-proof setups by mom and dad, waving bye-bye and signing for “more!”

Anywhere we go, Max is totally a little ladies man. He bats his pretty blue eyes and the women stop on the sidewalk, the Farmers market and the stores just to squeeze on his fat little thighs. It sounds kind of funny, but those legs of his are definitely a conversation starter out here.
