The boys are currently both obsessed with all things LEGO. Ethan will even pretend like he’s filming a LEGO review after he’s built a particular model. (His screen name is E Double D – seriously.)
So, you can imagine their sheer excitement when we surprised them with a trip to LEGOLANDÂ for their final days of Spring Break. The boys were without a doubt on cloud nine!
We joined the Williams family (Ron, Cindy, Brigid and Amity) and stayed at the adjacent LEGOLAND Hotel during it’s Grand Opening weekend. The boys LOVED their pirate LEGO themed room and bunk bed, which was an initial trial run to see how Max will do when we get the boys a bunk bed this summer. Talk about a kid-centric hotel. The doors have a child-height peephole and the toilets have inner rings for smaller behinds. Everything was LEGO themed and there were so many opportunities for the boys to build with (and of course, purchase) LEGO.
The park was very age appropriate for both boys though there were definitely a few more rides for Ethan to enjoy since he was taller. Max did enjoy his first amusement park rides and loved the playgrounds throughout the park.

There was an adjoining aquarium and water park as well. We actually ran into one of Ethan’s St. Martin’s classmates, Noah, while we were at the Aquarium — what are the odds that 2 of the 7 boys in his class were there at the same time and actually ran into each other?
I think other than a couple of small issues, we were really pleased with the entire experience and would definitely go back again.
