Max the Future CBC Cadet

CONGRATULATIONS, MAXWELL THOMAS!!

We are so proud to officially have another CBC Cadet in the house! 💜 Congratulations to Max & the class of 2029!! We’re excited for your CBC journey!

Max’s relationship with CBC started the summer of  2022 when he attended his first Cadet Summer Academy. CBC knew what they were doing when they started these middle school camps for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The school and faculty made Max feel right at home — especially Mr. Batliner with his Fun & Games sessions and DJ’s esports coaching sessions.

It only made sense that Max continued to experience the recruitment opportunities including the CBC Open House event in 6th grade, a 7th-grade CBC Challenge Day, and an 8th-grade CBC Shadow Day.

When the time came to apply, he was committed in his decision to become a Cadet and wear purple for another 4 years 😉

I hope he has a great experience and I’m thrilled he and Ethan will share this bond of the CBC Brotherhood.

Inspired to Lead, Learn, and Serve at CBC

From the sidelines, I’ve watched my older brother Ethan mature as a student at CBC and grow into the person he is today. CBC has challenged him, provided opportunities, forced him to step outside his comfort zone, and helped transform him into a confident man inspired to lead, learn, and serve. I’ve also gotten to know Ethan’s peers. They support each other and lift each other up, and I want to be part of this environment where students encourage each other to be their best.

People assume I’m applying to CBC since my brother attends. Granted, I was exposed to CBC as a 5th grader when Ethan was a freshman at CBC. However, I’ve made my own connections to CBC thanks to attending the CBC Summer Academy. I’ve grown familiar with the campus and the faculty who have made a positive impression on me during my visits, shadow days, and Summer Academy. They remember my name and made me feel part of the CBC community.

One of the biggest factors that influenced my decision to apply to CBC is its strong emphasis on academics, community, and service. I value the idea of growing in these areas, and I believe CBC will help me become a well-rounded person and prepare me for a successful future. The school’s reputation for academic excellence and its dedicated teachers make it a place where I know I will be challenged to reach my full potential.

If accepted, I hope to make the most of the opportunities available at this school and challenge myself to grow academically, spiritually, and personally. Academically, I aim to excel in my classes, explore subjects that interest me, and prepare myself for success in college and beyond. I also plan to participate in honors, AP, and STEM classes and explore courses that aren’t even on my radar as of yet.

Outside the classroom, I plan to play volleyball and participate in the CBC Honors Program, service projects, esports, student ambassador program, or student government. These activities will help me develop leadership skills, meet people, and contribute to the school community.

By the time I graduate, I want to reflect on my four years and feel proud of the relationships I built, the challenges I overcame, and the person I became with the help of CBC and its community. Ultimately, I want to embody CBC’s vision for its graduates and be: guided by faith, strengthened by intellect, committed to justice, and prepared to lead and serve.
