Missouri Math League Competition

7th grade participated in the Missouri Math League Competition against many other 7th grade classes in the state. This competition was a test of 35 questions and had a time limit of 30 minutes. The students are not told beforehand about it because it is not meant to be studied for and not taken for a grade. These tests are well above grade level and really push the students’ critical thinking skills.

The Missouri Math League considers a score of 14/35 a high score. MAX was one of the five CPOP 7th-grade students with high enough scores to submit for review against the other schools.

Max Wins 2nd Place International Kahoot Cup

Max’s 7th grade class joined the Kahoot Cup, which is a worldwide trivia competition hosted by Kahoot each year. They competed against many other countries. Our competitors in our assigned time zone game were countries like Canada, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Argentina, Bermuda and even Greece! The kids loved seeing the flags and classrooms from all the other countries and were surprised by how much the classrooms looked just like ours at CPOP.

Max Danker made it to the podium and was in 2nd place up until the last question! He was in 2nd place out of almost 2,000 competitors!! And many more of our 7th graders were in the top 10 throughout the competition. By the time the competition ended each 7th grader was able to say they were in the top 100 scores at one point in the competition. That is an amazing accomplishment! Top 100 out of 2,000 competitors!!
From Mrs. Hacay, “As soon as Max’s name popped up on the screen in 2nd place I am pretty sure the whole school could hear them cheering him on! They are such a supportive group of kids! They were so supportive and genuinely excited for each of their classmates’ accomplishments. It was such a fun afternoon with 7th grade!”
