This past weekend Ethan hosted a crew of young pirates for his 5th birthday bash at Will Roger’s Park. It was awesome to get to celebrate his birthday outside in the sunshine and warm weather. The birthday boy was even able to wear shorts. (Quite the change from Missouri winter weather!) But even better than the warm weather was that ALL of Ethan’s little buddies were able to join in the celebration. After transitioning to a new city and school, it was really nice to have everyone show up – a great testament to how well E has adapted and made new friends. (Though nothing will replace our friends back in STL!)
The boys (and one lovely little girl) enjoyed races, relays, obstacle courses, digging for buried treasure and of course pirate cake!
This age has already brought a heap of fun with it — tennis lessons, soccer practice, bike riding, learning how to read and preparing for Kindergarten (which is a whole story in itself)! I cannot believe our little man is FIVE. I’ll try not to blink too much for fear I might miss something. What a fun year ahead!!!

Oh my!!!!!!!!!!! What a grand party you had out in Will Rogers Park. Looks like all the kids had a great time……. especially the birthday boy. Hard to realize that you are now 5 years old………..We miss you terribly. Luv to you, Max, mom and dad.
