The boys loved decorating the house for Halloween and we celebrated all-month long! The miniature gingerbread houses were a big hit as were some witches hats and monster mouths that we made. We definitely need to get some more front-yard decor. What can I say, we haven’t had a front yard to decorate the past two years — we need to catch up!
We drove to Simi Valley to for pumpkin picking and a fall festival. The drive was beautiful. This was Max’s first pumpkin picking and overall, he loved it. He did get a little frustrated with the Corn Maze (as did I!), but the tractor ride, animals and kid activities were a hit. I think he would have taken an hour to pick out a pumpkin if we would have let him.
We met up with a few friends and Ethan really enjoyed the corn cannon.

Unfortunately, Max was sick for Trunk-or-Treat, but Ethan and I went and decorated the back of our car with spiderwebs and very large spiders. We were one of the rookie participants this year and it showed. A lot of families go ALL OUT if they choose to decorate their car and come equipped with chili cooktops, tables/chairs, spooky music, life-size decorations and crazy amounts of lights.
Ethan was completely spooked out by the thought of going door-to-door. He hates creepy decorations and thinks every house is going to be too scary. Max on the other hand is very brave and was telling Ethan “It won’t be scary, Yah-Yah. You can go with me. I’ll walk with you.” It was so incredibly sweet. [But keep in mind Max had just been completely beating on Ethan 15 minutes earlier so it’s not always this cute.]
Needless to say, we needed some immersion therapy for Ethan…

Ethan chose a Star Wars theme and selected Jango Fett (Bounty Hunter and Boba Fett’s “father” for you wannabe Star Wars nerds). He couldn’t wear anything that covered his face during his school’s Halloween parade, but he clearly still had a blast.

Ethan suggested that Max be “baby” Yoda. Frankly, his size makes him the perfect small green creature, but since Ethan donned him Baby Yoda…the name has stuck. Whenever asked what he was going to be for Halloween, Max answered with “Baby Yoda” with pride!
Max was so excited about trick-or-treating — and his Angry Birds pumpkin!
