Now that the boys are both old enough to walk and hike at a moderate pace, we decided it was time the Dankers would embark on an epic California roadtrip during spring break!
Our first stop was supposed to be Sequoia National Park, but the Sierra Nevada received almost a foot of snow the day prior to our departure. Closed roads throughout the park made for a quick morning-of-departure decision to skip over this park until summer.
So our actual first stop was Yosemite National Park which has been on our CA bucket list since we moved to LA. Yosemite also received snow, but it was melting quickly as the temperatures rose into the 40s. The boys were thrilled to see the (albeit melting) winter wonderland. Snowball fights ensued (see video/photos at the end of the post). Too bad we left our snowboots in Missouri!
The white stuff made for beautiful snowcapped mountain photos of Half Dome and El Capitan as well as flowing waterfalls throughout the park.
After finally seeing the captivating Yosemite views, I cannot believe IÂ waited so long to see this grand park.

So glad to see this park with these boys!

Yosemite offered plenty of hikes full of gigantic trees, rocks and waterfalls.
