2007 was a really memorable year. A lot of firsts for Ethan and for us as parents. In my opinion, Ethan’s first year went by a little too fast. Every parent tells you…”Children grow up so fast!” but until you live it, you cannot appreciate how fleeting the time really is.

That said, 2011 is also proving to be an extremely remarkable year as we’re getting a fantastic, sweet dose of deja vu as Max goes through his firsts. And truth be told, Max’s first 6 months have seemed to go be even quicker than Ethan’s.

I can no longer call Max “toothless” as I had been as a petname – he now has gotten not one, but two little teeth poking through his gums. You wouldn’t think such a little thing could make a difference, but he already looks a little older overnight.

Some days I feel like we’re living in warp speed and I remind myself to just sit and enjoy holding Max and cuddling with Ethan. Part of me is afraid I’m not going to be able to remember these days and can appreciate the fact that looking back, they will be among the sweetest days that I ever get to experience in my life. I don’t want to forget the little things good and bad…and while these days are sometimes hard, and sleepless, I wouldn’t trade them for anything on this Earth.
