Last year Eric decided that we needed to go explore a spot just north of Los Angeles called Vasquez Rocks. It is a wondrous place that is part of the Sierra Pelona Mountains and makes you feel far from home. The rock formations were formed by rapid erosion during uplift about 25 million years ago and later exposed by activity along the San Andreas Fault. It is barren, dusty and full of very large jagged rocks … the perfect scene for a couple of rough and tumble boys.
Max still needs help and an occasional piggy back ride, but Ethan can hang surprisingly well. This other-worldly place has become one of our favorite spots to get away from the city for a few hours.

Nice rocks.I wouldn’t want to build a home there. No neighbors. Kids look great.
